The Sydney Swans have secured defender Michael Talia and draft pick 69 from the Western Bulldogs in exchange for the club’s fourth round pick in 2016.
Talia, 22, has played 30 matches after being recruited with pick 39 in the 2011 AFL Draft.
Sydney Swans General Manager Football, Tom Harley, said the club was pleased to finalise the trade.
“We’re excited to welcome Michael to the club after starting his career with the Western Bulldogs,” Harley said.
“Michael’s an exciting athletic key defender who will help bolster our defensive stocks.
“He played some impressive games this year and we’re pleased he has decided to join the club after looking for a fresh start in 2016.”
Talia played 14 games in 2015 averaging 17 disposals to finish 15th in the Western Bulldogs’ Club Champion award.
His best match was against Hawthorn in Round 3 where he gathered 27 disposals and 7 marks.
On the final day of the trade period, the Swans also strengthened its draft position by acquiring pick 36 and 37 in exchange for pick 23.
The Swans will enter next month’s AFL Draft with picks 33, 36, 37, 44, 54, 69, 72, 90 and 108.
