Sydney Swans Chief Executive Andrew Ireland said the 2016 AFL fixture is a huge win for Swans fans.

“With Swans matches being played in stadiums in all states in 2016 this truly is a great draw for our members and supporters,” Ireland said.

“It’s really exciting for our club that we can be involved in the celebration of culture, inclusion and diversity and the commemoration of our heritage in 2016.

“The annual Marngrook match to kick off the newly named Sir Doug Nicholls Round will once again be a terrific community event while playing in the first Pride Match against St Kilda is a great initiative and something we’re proud to be part of.

“We requested a good number of games in Melbourne in 2016 and we’re fortunate our Victorian fans will be able to see the team in action six times next season.

“While we’ve been scheduled three matches at ANZ Stadium in the last year of our contract, as the AFL said earlier in the week, the club is open to relocating the fixtures to the SCG if future negotiations made this possible.

“With a record 48,000 members on board this year and with huge games scheduled at home and in fact all around the country, we’re expecting matches to be in high demand in 2016.

“The best way to guarantee a seat in the stands at home or while we’re interstate is by becoming a member of the Sydney Swans in 2016.

“With membership packages to suit everyone, we look forward to welcoming all to the Sydney Swans family next year and beyond.”
