Sydney Swans coach John Longmire is pleased with the pre-season form of his side just two week’s out from the start of the home and away season.
The Swans increased their pressure and intensity around the contest in Sunday’s nine point win over Fremantle after a disappointing performance against Brisbane in week one.
Longmire said he was satisfied with the performance of his team throughout the pre-season ahead of their final competitive game against GWS on Sunday.
”We have been fortunate to play some teams that have had the best players they had available out on the ground playing,” Longmire said.
“We have seen GWS play over the first two weeks and they look fantastic at the moment as they have some great depth.
“We expect to have a really good hit out this week as GWS are in ripping form.”
Longmire is confident key forward Kurt Tippett is expecting to
“He had done almost all of training up until the last couple of weeks he has had a terrific pre-season,” Longmire told ABC Radio.
“He has done a terrific pre-season and done most of it, he just got a knock to his knee in our intra club a couple of weeks ago,”
“He has been able to run but not do the ball work but we expect that to happen next week and hopefully he is available for the round one game against the Bombers.”
Lance Franklin, Adam Goodes and Ted Richards are set for increased game time against the GWS on Sunday after their first match of the season against Fremantle last weekend.
