The Sydney Swans would like to congratulate Trevor Sykes on receiving the “Most Outstanding Contribution to Journalism” honour at this year’s Walkley Awards.

Sykes, a passionate Swans supporter and long-time Centre Circle member, was awarded the highly esteemed accolade at Thursday night’s gala dinner held at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.

Acknowledged for his relentless investigative journalism, Sykes is a long-time finance journalist who wrote a column for the Australian Financial Review (AFR) under the guise of Pierpont for more than 40 years until his retirement in 2005.

He continues to contribute for the AFR and has written eight books during his long and celebrated career detailing various Australian financial scandals and goings on.

The Swans would like to join the wider journalism community in congratulating Mr Sykes on his achievement.
