Sydney Swans big man Kurt Tippett is set to be a strong contender for this year’s Bob Skilton Medal after arguably his best season since joining the club.
The 203cm key played a versatile role throughout the 2015 season, splitting his time between ruck duties and providing a target up forward.
Tippett’s ability to contest the stoppages and be a spearhead in the forward line was on full display finishing the season with 44 goals from 22 games – his best return since 2010.
As the season progressed, his importance in the side grew as he was forced to play more time in the ruck, a role in which he flourished.
He finished the season averaging a career-high 12 disposals and 17 hit outs per game.
Tippett’s most dominant game of the season came against Greater Western Sydney in Round 21 when he collected 21 disposals, 20 hit outs, eight marks and booted five goals.
Expect to see the 28-year-old rank among the top contenders for this season’s Club Champion to be held on Friday October 9.
