Lance Franklin and Luke Parker have been named in the Sydney Swans side to face GWS in Saturday’s elimination final at the SCG.

The star pair have been named to return from groin injuries that kept them out of the final match of the home-and-away season. Jordan Dawson and Robbie Fox have been omitted.

Coach John Longmire said he was pleased to welcome over 450 games of experience back into the side.

“They both played really well for us a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately they missed the game against the Hawks but it is great to have them back in the line-up,” Longmire said.

“We have a really good young forward group and they have been playing pretty well for most of the year so it is good to have some experience in that part of the ground.

“Luke can go into the midfield but also up forward as well to add some experience amongst the youth up there.”

Longmire said the midfield battle was set to play a key role in the result on Saturday.

“Most games in that part of the ground are fierce contests and this week will be no different,” Longmire said.

“GWS have got absolute top line quality through there, they have stars everywhere through that line-up.

“We are confident in our group, it will be a tough contest inside and outside, we are really looking forward to that.”
