In 2024 Jarrad McVeigh stepped into the role of VFL Head Coach after serving as an assistant coach of the Sydney Swans since 2021. He replaced Damian Truslove who led the side for two seasons.

The 2012 Premiership player called time on his illustrious playing career at the end of the 2019 season after 325 AFL games – making him the second-most capped Swan in history alongside Jude Bolton.

The 2002 draftee co-captained Sydney in the years spanning 2011-2016 – highlighted by leading the club to the 2012 premiership – and won two Club Champion awards (2008, 2013), earned All Australian selection (2013) and made a club-high 28 finals appearances.

He was also named at half-back in the greatest NSW team of all time in May 2019 and is a Swans Life Member.
