Sydney Swans forward Lance Franklin’s starring five goal haul in Sunday’s clash against Brisbane was rewarded with a ‘perfect ten’ votes from the coaches.
In wet conditions, Franklin made it look easy kicking goals and setting up others from all pockets of the ground to help clinch a three-point win for the team.
It wasn’t only Franklin who impressed coaches John Longmire and Justin Leppitsch with Luke Parker’s 29 disposal and three goal effort, including the game’s clincher, recognised with three votes.
Parker is just one vote off the new leader in the AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player of the Year award, Patrick Dangerfield, after six rounds of the season.
In his 150th match, Dan Hannebery relished the conditions collecting a workmanlike 33 disposals, 13 tackles and six inside 50s while Kurt Tippett received one vote for his 25 touches, 36 hitouts and a goal.
For the Lions, it was Dayne Zorko (eight votes), Tom Rockliff (three), Mitch Robinson (two) and Daniel Rich (one) to receive the votes.
