We take a closer look at some of the potential first round draftees ahead of the National Draft to be held in Sydney on November 25.

The Club will enter the National Draft with live selections at pick 9, 19, 46 and 49.

The following are four of the potential draft prospects predicted by experts to go within the first round.

Ben Ainsworth – Gippsland Power/Vic Country
Height: 179cm
Weight: 74kg
Position: Forward

One of the most exciting talents in the draft pool Ainsworth has showcased his full array of skills playing as a small forward who can push into the midfield. He averaged 29 disposals a game over the last four games of the season when pushed into the midfield also kicking 12 goals in that period. Thrives on the pressure of delivering when called upon he is brilliant overhead and is a clean crumber at ground level. Second in the 20-metre sprint at the Draft Combine and fifth in repeat sprints.

Tim English – South Fremantle/Western Australia
Height: 203cm
Weight: 86kg
Position: Ruckman

It is rare to see a ruckman taken in the first round of the National Draft but an impressive finish to the season from English has seen him rocket into calculations. After being overlooked in the 2015 draft this 203cm big man emerged as one of the most promising big men in the draft pool. Can get plenty of the football around the ground, uses the ball well and has shown he can move forward when needed to take a strong overhead mark.

Tim Taranto – Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro
Height: 186cm
Weight: 82kg
Position: Midfielder

A highly rated midfield talent, Taranto is expected to get plenty of attention and likely go in the top ten at this year’s National Draft. A strong size as a midfielder he showed he could shift forward against Vic Country this year when he booted three goals. Taranto has the ability to not only win his own ball in the contest but also spread to receive it from teammates and set them up. Has also shown he could play across half back if required giving him great versatility as he gets ready for his first season in the AFL system.

Griffin Logue – Swan Districts/Western Australia
Height: 193cm
Weight: 92kg
Position: Defender

Rated as the best defender in the draft pool the Western Australian product is athletic, quick and can shut down a key forward. Loves to float across the pack to take a strong overhead mark and has showcased his ability to be the third man up in a marking contest. Improved his draft credentials at the Draft Combine where he ran 15.1 in the beep test and top-five in the 3km time trial.
