Gary Rohan stays on in Sydney
There will be plenty more red in the red and white over the coming years with Gary Rohan signing a new deal
Rohan, who returned to senior football last year after a horrific leg break in 2012, will remain a Swan until at least the end of 2017.
Sydney Swans coach John Longmire said it was exciting to have Gary re-commit to the club.
“Gary is just a great personality to have around a club and is a real favourite of the fans,” Longmire said.
“I think people can underestimate how difficult it is to return from an injury as serious as what Gary suffered.
“He has had to overcome some serious hurdles over the last few years, but he has bounced back really well and we are excited to see what he can bring to our team in 2014 and beyond.
“It is great to see him up and running this pre-season and in really good form.
“He is an incredibly exciting player who brings great pace into the side and I have no doubt Gary’s best footy is ahead of him.”
The 23-year-old from Cobden in Victoria has played 27 senior matches since being drafted to the Swans with selection six overall in the 2009 National Draft.
