Hannebery and Rohan set to train
Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron updates SwansTV with the latest on Gary Rohan and Dan Hannebery's injuries...
Exciting young duo Dan Hannebery and Gary Rohan remain a strong chance to take their place in this Friday night’s semi-final against Hawthorn at the MCG.
Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron said both players had improved over the last 24 hours and he was hopeful they would train during Wednesday’s session at the SCG.
“Gary has continued to improve today and he is looking like he’s going to be able to train on Wednesday and will be a good chance of playing,” Cameron said.
“Dan, with a dislocated shoulder, he’s also on the improve. He is better today, his movement is pretty good, so we’re hoping to get him out training tomorrow and we’ll see how he copes running around and marking the ball and we can proceed from there.”
Cameron said the medical staff had decided to rule forward Lewis Johnston out for the remainder of the year, after his ankle syndesmosis injury flared at training last week.
“He had suffered the ankle syndesmosis injury a few months ago and this is the second time it has flared up since then, so we’ve decided to stop him now before he injures it any further and we’ll get him right for the preseason."
Johnston joins young ruckman Dan Currie, who has also been ruled out for the remainder of the season with his foot injury.
