Sydney Swans coach John Longmire addressed the media at the SCG on Monday afternoon.
Sydney is set for a trip to Perth to face Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.
Here are some key quotes from the press conference.
Jarrad McVeigh's calf injury
"Unfortunately Jarrad hurt his calf in the NEAFL game on Saturday and he's out for a month. He's only played one-and-a-half games at senior level so far this year. He got through to the last quarter on the weekend and pulled up sore. He got a scan this morning and he's out for a month."
Michael Knoll, Joel Amartey
"They were okay in the ruck in the NEAFL. Whether or not they've done enough to go on the plane to Perth this week we're not sure just yet. We understand that they're both very raw. I've been on the record saying we'd like to put Aliir Aliir down back and Sam Reid forward. What we do this week against Fremantle's ruck set-up we're not quite sure yet. Michael and Joel were okay in the NEAFL on the weekend, and whether they've done enough we'll decide later in the week."
Lance Franklin's injury progress
"I'd say at this stage he'll be unlikely to play the Geelong game next week. We've got to make sure we get some training into him. We need to make sure we get a bit more work into him before we expose him at training let alone in games. We're mindful of that because it's a re-do of an injury he suffered earlier in the week. He hasn't been involved in the training sessions. He's been running around, doing his rehab and strengthening his hamstring."
