Star midfielder Josh Kennedy believes a clash against top four contender Geelong on Friday night is the perfect tonic to rebound from Saturday’s disappointing loss.
The Swans went down to the Bulldogs by just four points at the SCG on Saturday afternoon after being in control of the contest for most of the afternoon.
With just a six-day turnaround before a trip to Simmonds Stadium, Kennedy said the focus would quickly turn to this week’s opponent.
“It is obviously a huge challenge we face taking on Geelong in Geelong,” Kennedy said at recovery on Sunday morning.
“There is no better way to bounce back, we have six days which is good because it doesn’t give us too much time to dwell on the game that was.
“We will get in tomorrow, review it pretty early and get into the Cats as soon as possible.”
The Cats are sitting second on the ladder and will be refreshed as they come off the bye week.
Kennedy said there was little doubt it would be a heated contested on Friday night.
“They have had a great season and a great record against the top eight sides,” he said.
“On their day they are extremely tough to beat but on our day we are as well so it is going to be a good contest, no doubt.
“I think there is one thing for sure and that is that both teams will be firing.”
