Senior coach John Longmire is looking forward to seeing how his team responds when they face the form team of the competition on Friday night.
A near sell-out crowd is expected for Marn Grook at the SCG as the undefeated North Melbourne travel to the Harbour city.
Longmire is confident his side will rise to the challenge of taking on the ladder leaders.
“It is a big game you can’t deny that. It is a real test for both teams,” Longmire said.
“You get tested every week in AFL footy – we have been tested over the last couple of weeks and we will get tested again this week.
“They are well clear on top of the ladder playing super football and they are the form team in the competition at the moment, so we are looking forward to that test.”
The blockbuster clash will kick off the AFL’s Indigenous Round in the only Friday night match of the season at the SCG.
“We are playing the team on top of the ladder, in very good form on a Friday night at the SCG,” Longmire said.
“We would expect a big crowd here and we are looking forward to that.
“To be able to open the weekend with the Marn Grook game at the SCG we are really looking forward to that."
