A wayward display in front of the big sticks was enough to defeat Brisbane in Saturday's NEAFL curtain-raiser at the SCG.
The Swans always looked in control but rued a poor conversion rate in the 10.26 (86) to 5.11 (41) triumph which served as a warm up to the highly anticipated AFL clash between Sydney and Adelaide.
Dean Towers and Lloyd Perris were able to impact the scoreboard with two goals each but the 36 scoring shots for only 86 points marred the hosts' 10th win of the season.
Towers, the main culprit with six behinds, was lively further up the ground to gather 24 disposals while Dan Robinson (33 disposals) and Zak Jones (28 disposals) were also dominant ball winners.
More to come.
