The Sydney Swans are set to be bolstered by the return of a number of players including Ben McGlynn and Isaac Heeney to the main group following the bye week break.
Ben McGlynn and Isaac Heeney could potentially bolster an already strong Swans line up that defeated North Melbourne by 16 points last weekend.
After a sublime start to his career in the red and white, Heeney suffered a slight strain to his posterior cruciate ligament against Melbourne in Round 6.
The 19-year-old’s recovery has been going to plan since sustaining the injury and if all goes to plan would be expected to join in training with the main group following the bye.
McGlynn sustained a minor hamstring strain just prior to the club’s Round 10 match against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium.
Scans cleared McGlynn of any major damage but a conservative approach was taken with the small forward who sat out last weekend’s win over North Melbourne.
The pair will have to fight hard for a spot in a side that has now won six in a row and has very few major injury concerns at the half way point of the season.
Coach John Longmire was optimistic about the chances of Heath Grundy avoiding an injury concern with the key defender returning to the field on Saturday night after falling awkwardly on his knee.
"They said all the ligaments were fine and he played out the last eight to 10 minutes and seemed to play it out ok," Longmire said.
"He landed a bit stiff legged but the docs tested him on the bench. I'd have to say at this stage he should be ok touch wood."
Lloyd Perris (knee) and Lewis Melican (groin) were also on track to re-join teammates in training following the bye week break.
