It’s the news we’ve been waiting for and we’re excited to confirm that we will be running out again on Sunday, 14 June.

The Sydney Swans will resume the 2020 season against Essendon at the SCG, in a Sunday afternoon match that will be shown LIVE on Channel 7 across Australia.

The AFL has confirmed the next four weeks of the home and away fixture, revealing Sydney will play three of those four matches at the SCG.

The clash with Essendon will be followed by a Saturday afternoon away game against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium, and then the Swans will be back at the SCG to take on the Western Bulldogs in prime time on Thursday night, before hosting Melbourne the following Sunday afternoon.

The announcement comes as the team returned to training with the full squad for the first time since the lockdown began.

Sydney Swans coach John Longmire said there’s plenty of work to do before he turns his attention to the Bombers, but he knows the players can’t wait to get out there.

“Our players are really looking forward to getting back into it and no matter where it is, at what time or what venue, we’re just looking forward to playing again,” Longmire said.

“Everyone is in pretty good shape and we’re looking forward to seeing how that goes over the next few weeks. It’s a really important two-week training block we’ve got in front of us now.”

While fans can’t be at the games in this first block of the season restart we will be doing everything we can to take our Bloods 2020 members  behind-the-scenes and bring the action to you. We’ll have more details on that in the next few weeks.
