Footy returns this Sunday to the SCG when we take on Essendon in Round 2 of the AFL’s home and away season.
Yesterday, the club received confirmation from the NSW Government that SCG dining areas can be opened to allow a small number of members into our Round 2 match.
While it won’t be quite the atmosphere we’re all used to, this is a unique chance to support the team LIVE from inside the SCG.
A ballot will be conducted to select the members who can access this small number of tickets to attend the match within these government restrictions.
Due to the significantly reduced capacity, the Round 2 ballot is only open to those who hold an 11-game membership and who have pledged 100% of their membership in 2020. Should any tickets remain after this group have registered, the ballot may be opened to other groups.
Eligible members will receive an email today with the ballot link. Further information about the ballot and attendee obligations can be viewed below.
Ensuring the health and safety of the community and our Swans community is our priority. These unprecedented times mean there will be obligations for attendees. As we continue to follow the advice of the relevant government and health authorities, if you are not comfortable with meeting these obligations, please do not register for the ballot.
ABOUT THE ROUND 2 BALLOT
For Round 2, registrations for the ballot will be restricted to those who hold an 11-game membership and who have pledged 100% of their membership in 2020. Members can register in groups of up to four (4) eligible members. Children under the age of 16 years are ineligible to register without an Adult Bloods member within the same ballot registration.
Ballot registrations close 8pm AEST Thursday June 11. Members will be selected at random and SUCCESSFUL registrants will be contacted by email on Friday, June 12.
ATTENDEE OBLIGATIONS
All attendees will be required to comply with the standard conditions of entry of both the SCG and AFL. In addition, the following measures and obligations will be required for all attendees:
- Patrons are to remain seated and only move around to utilise amenities. There is no movement allowed outside of your ticketed space except to enter and exit the venue.
- Entry to the venue will be via strict access times communicated to successful members.
- Respect social distancing rules at all time.
- Patrons are required to consent to a waiver/acknowledgement of risk. This document will be provided to attendees who are successful in the ballot.
- Attendees in all areas will be subject to temperature checks through the normal process of entry.
- We all love our footy and we’d love to have you at the game, however, if you are an individual deemed by NSW Health to be at higher risk of COVID-19 complications, please think carefully about the impact of your attendance on your health.
- If you are unwell – do not attend.
- Members who are successful in the ballot will be issued tickets electronically. All tickets will be issued under the names verified through the ballot process and are not transferrable and may not be on-sold.
- Access or contact with players and Sydney Swans staff who are adhering to the AFL’s strict health protocols is prohibited.
- The Sydney Swans and the AFL community strongly recommended that all patrons have the Australian Government COVIDSafe App installed and in use, with Bluetooth engaged.
- No-show penalty: members successful in the ballot who fail to show and do not make contact with the club at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled event time, may be ineligible for future ballot registrations.
- Cancellations: in the event you are no longer able to attend, please contact the club at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled event time. Failure to make contact with the club may result in ineligibility for future ballot registrations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Members wishing to attend together must register their group together. There is a maximum of four (4) members per registration. If members in your group do not meet the registrations criteria please be aware registrations are ‘one in all in’, ‘one out all out’.
- Memberships, registrations in the ballot and tickets are NOT transferrable.
- Identification may be requested on arrival at the venue.
- All available entry areas for Round 2 have accessible facilities.
- If you are paying via Smart Pay and your payment(s) have defaulted, you will not be eligible to register for the ballot.
- Please note all 2020 membership cards will not be valid at the SCG until further notice.
- To ensure the health and safety of the community, if you are unsuccessful in the ballot and have NOT been issued an electronic ticket for the event specified, please do NOT attend the SCG.
UPCOMING HOME FIXTURES
Registration access will again be reviewed for each match to further align with government restrictions. We are hopeful as the season progresses a further range of Bloods Members and Bloods Supporter members will have access to matches at the SCG.
