Over the moon; jumping for joy; can’t wipe the smile off his face. Those are all fairly accurate descriptions of Sydney Swans member Dave Thompson this week.

Dave and two friends will attend Sunday's clash with Essendon at the SCG after being successful in the member ballot.

The NSW Government granted approval for a small number of fans to return to the SCG on Sunday, in line with the regulations that apply to restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Dave, a member since 2012 and a Bloods 2020 11-game member this season, is excited for a unique footy experience, that will see just a few hundred fans watch the game from the function venues across the stadium.

"I'm looking forward to it, will be an interesting experience for sure,” Thompson said.

We asked him a few questions ahead of tomorrow's clash.

 1. How long have you been a Swans member?

I started off with various casual memberships from 2002 and my passion grew from there. I have been a full member for about 8 years.

 2. What are you looking forward to most about the return of footy?

Not having footy to watch over winter has been strange. Seeing the boys run out on the SCG on Sunday will be a big part of getting our lives back to “normal”. I’m just thrilled that I can be there in person.

 3. What does it mean to be a Swans member to you?

It means being part of something bigger than you, being part of a tribe. This year, more than any other, I feel proud to be a Bloods 2020 member.

 4. Tip for tomorrow’s game?
