The 19-year-old, who bettered his previous PB by more than 20 seconds, finished ahead of Dan Hannebery and Dan Robinson, while Jake Lloyd, Luke Parker, Dean Towers and Harry Cunningham also finished in the top group.
Perris, who has posted top-three finishes in all of the Swans’ time-trials this pre-season, told SwansTV that Wednesday’s run was by far his best since joining the club.
“It was a good run today and I felt really good,” he said.
“It was the best three k-er I’ve done this pre-season and it felt really good to be out in front as well.
“It was a personal best for me and it felt really good to run really well at this time of year.”
Perris’ effort in the time-trial impressed a number of senior Swans players, including Hannebery, who finished closely behind the 19-year-old.
Hannebery, who is renowned as one of the Swans’ top runners, said he has noticed improvement in Perris over the pre-season.
“Lloydy Perris set a really good pace … and has had a really good pre-season,” Hannebery told SwansTV.
“He’s sort of set the standard for a young bloke, which is really impressive.
“He’s run really well all pre-season and he’s put in the hard yards and I was really happy for him to win today.”
Swans assistant coach Henry Playfair said the coaching staff were also pleased with Perris’ performance, as well as the efforts of a number of young Swans.
“They went really well and it was good to get another time-trial into them, and looking at the results, most of the boys did pretty well,” Playfair told SwansTV.
“Lloyd Perris came first and it was good to see him up there for a young kid because winning a three-kilometre time-trial is never easy, but he did a good job.
“Gary Rohan also did a good time for him and put up a solid time and Dean Towers was another good time.”
Playfair said one of the surprise packets of Wednesday’s run was Tom Mitchell, who took part in his first time-trial this pre-season following an ankle injury suffered in last year’s semi final.
“He did really well for limited preparation and put in a really good time, which was good to see,” Playfair said about Mitchell’s run.
