Reid and Jack back, Franklin out
Sam Reid and Brandon Jack return to the Swans side to face Brisbane as Lance Franklin and LRT miss
Franklin, who was subbed out of last week’s win over Melbourne with a knee complaint, was not able to complete training on Thursday afternoon and was subsequently ruled out, with Lewis Roberts-Thomson the other to make way for Reid and Jack.

Speaking to SwansTV for Centrum Team Selection, Longmire said Franklin’s recovery did not progress as quickly as he had hoped.
“His knee unfortunately didn’t quite come up,” Longmire said.
“As we saw last week, he was sore enough to get subbed out of the game.
“Structurally his knee is okay, but the soreness was enough that he wasn’t able to train today.
“He wasn’t able to do much, which means he’s out this week.”
Longmire confirmed that Kurt Tippett, who sustained a cracked rib a fortnight ago, took part in Thursday’s training, but was not yet ready to play his first match of the 2014 season.
“Kurt trained pretty well for the bit of training he did today,” Longmire said.
“He actually looked pretty good and moved around pretty well, but couldn’t do the contested stuff.
“We’re hoping that if all goes well, that he’ll be right for next week.”
While Franklin and Tippett will not play this week, Reid will make his return after missing the last four weeks of football with Achilles soreness.
Longmire said he was looking forward to seeing the 22-year-old back in the side against the Lions this weekend.
“It’s good to get Sam back in the team,” he said.
“He’s missed three or four weeks of football, but he’s been training for the last couple of weeks and has looked better and better with the more sessions he’s done.
“He’s a very important player for us.
“He’s smart, he can play a number of positions and roles and he’s very quick, so it’s good to get him back in the team.”
Lions v Swans Preview
Jack, who, along with Reid, travelled with the team to Melbourne as an emergency last week, will make his second senior appearance this season.
Longmire said he hoped Jack would add a burst of speed into the Swans’ attack.
“Brandon is a player who can cause, we hope, a little bit of damage at ground level,” he said.
“He’s a very quick player and he’s got that speed as he gets across the deck.
“Hopefully he brings that forward pressure that he’s really good at.
“He played well against the Dockers a couple of weeks ago and that’s the sort of forward pressure that we’re after from him this week.”
The Lions have lost running defender Pearce Hanley to a back injury, with Rohan Bewick named as his replacement.
