Lance Franklin got the green light and now the Sydney Swans await scans on Kurt Tippett's knee to see if he can join 'Buddy' in the forward line for Saturday's giant clash with Port Adelaide at the SCG.
Both key forwards were in doubt for the top-of-the-table showdown, with Franklin facing suspension and Tippett sustaining another knee injury in Sunday's victory over the Gold Coast.
A free kick was paid down the field for Franklin's late bump on the Suns' Clay Cameron and the Match Review Panel (MRP) decided there was insufficient force in the high contact to constitute a reportable offence.
Tippett was substituted out of the game in the third term with a knee problem, which is unrelated to the tendinitis he suffered in last year's finals series that kept him out until round eight this season.
Swans midfielder Josh Kennedy told reporters at the club's recovery session on Monday the big key forward was confident of facing the Power.
"He pulled up a bit sore and will get scans tomorrow and hopefully it's all good and he'll be right to go," Kennedy said.
"If he isn't, I guess we'll have to deal with it during the week.
"He was pretty positive last night and thought that he'd be right, so that's all we can go off at the moment and just hope we get the best result possible from the scan.
"Last time it was a bit of knee tendinitis and making sure that was all good to go.
"This time he might've just pinched it or something like that and hopefully there's no structural damage."
Franklin kicked three goals against the Suns to take his tally to 14 from his past four games and 26 for the season, while Tippett had kicked 12 in his opening three games before drawing a blank on Sunday.
If Tippett is ruled out, the Swans have a number of options at their disposal.
Mike Pyke, Gary Rohan and Ryan O'Keefe all kicked goals in the reserves on Sunday, while Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Tom Mitchell and Brandon Jack are also waiting in the wings for an opportunity.
The Swans had six multiple goalkickers on Sunday, including Harry Cunningham (four), Sam Reid (three) and Kennedy (two) himself, as they secured a seventh straight victory.
It is a sign of the growing confidence at the club that when Kennedy was asked – prior to the MRP ruling – about the possibility of playing without both Franklin and Tippett, he felt the Swans could cover for their absence.
"Absolutely," he said. "We've got great depth at the moment and there are a lot of guys knocking down the door.
"The fact we've been playing really well and winning has made it pretty tough (for others to break into the team), but if one of them don't get up, I'm sure whoever comes in would be able to play a role."
Ben McGlynn will be monitored during the week after he copped a heavy head knock against the Gold Coast, although he is tipped to play.
While the Swans have been stealing headlines with their exceptional play and star-studded line-up, Port just keep on winning, remaining two wins clear atop the ladder following its comfortable triumph over St Kilda on Saturday.
Ken Hinkley's side also strangled the life out of the Swans the last time they met, in round 13 last year in Adelaide, and Kennedy expects his third-placed troops to have their hands full on Saturday afternoon.
"They're the in-form team of the comp, no doubt," he said.
"They've been playing really well throughout the course of the whole season, they beat us last year as well, so we hold them in really high regard as a quality football team.
"It's another huge test for us to keep building and hopefully keep the good form up and hopefully hold our spot in the top four."
