It was great to return from Adelaide with four points in the bank and a host of Swans returning to Fantasy form. ‘Gurus’ Lotts and Sub-elite Legends dissect all of the action from Round 3 and take a look at North Melbourne who will travel to the SCG on Sunday.

What did you take out of our round three match, Fantasy wise?

Lotts:
Well it’s good to be back on the winners’ list, that’s for sure. It was an impressive performance by the guys to travel to Adelaide and play the Crows in their first home match at the redeveloped Adelaide Oval and come away with the win. To cap it off, Buddy scored his first ton for the year recording 113 points, as did Luke Parker with 121 and Kieren Jack with 101 so it was a good game all-round.

Sub-elite Legends: I have to say I am jumping on the Buddy bandwagon this week. I always thought he would find some form and kick some goals for the club but I was really excited by just how dangerous he looked receiving the ball up on the half-forward line and delivering beautifully to the other forwards.

Who’s your Swans player of the week?

Lotts:
I remember at the start of the year Sub-elite Legends, you and I were debating whether we pick Tom Mitchell or Luke Parker in our sides. You went with Tommy – which was a good move since he averaged 90 points in his first two matches – and I opted for Parks who happened to steal the show in Adelaide, so he is easily my player of the week. Parks bagged four goals to go with his 26 disposals on his way to 121 Fantasy points.

Sub-elite Legends: Without a doubt it was Lance Franklin for me. I had front row seats for the Buddy show and with 4 goals, plenty of ball up the ground, and a season high 113 points he looks to be fitting in very nicely.

Which Swans player would you choose as your captain for the next game?

Lotts:
Well unfortunately my prediction didn’t come to fruition last week with Tommy Mitchell being subbed out at three quarter time. He looked very good in the opening two games but he’s clearly saving his best score for another week! So this week, I’m going to go with Kizza. The co-captain missed round one with a back injury but he’s building form on the back of his first ton for the year and looks like he’s ready for a big game against North Melbourne.

Sub-elite Legends: I want to stand by my recommendation that Jarrad McVeigh would start to see big score improvements on the back of his outstanding pre-season form, but his extensive time in the backline will hamper his scoring potential I think. Lance is my man this week, and he has a very strong record against the Kangaroos - 13 goals and a goliath 204 points anyone? If it is a sunny Sunday afternoon at the SCG this week, expect big things from Buddy.

Next up is North Melbourne at the SCG, who are the form players to look out for from the Kangaroos?

Lotts:
The Kangas are coming off the back of an impressive performance against Port Adelaide so I’m sure they’ll be heading north with plenty of confidence. They had seven players crack the ton last week with none bigger than Levi Greenwood’s monster 147 Fantasy points. I didn’t see that coming, but let’s hope he doesn’t produce a similar score against us. Former Saint Nick Dal Santo ($477,752) has also been a consistent performer for his three games with the Kangas averaging just under 100 Fantasy points a match so he’s one to look out for.

Sub-elite Legends: The evergreen Boomer Harvey has started season number 19 in electrifying form and once again kicked clutch goals when his team needed him against Port Adelaide on the weekend. I like him in Fantasy terms as he is the fourth highest averaging forward in the competition but has a lot more consistency than some of the power forwards whose scoring is highly dependent on the number of goals kicked.

We’re three rounds into Fantasy this year, who are the must-haves in your team?

Lotts:
I stupidly traded him out the week he got suspended, but it’s got to be Tom Rockliff ($562,664) for me, and he’ll be my first trade back this week. The Brisbane ball magnet just knows how to play, and play AFL Fantasy. He racks them up all over the ground, kicks goals and tackles; he’s a must have. Other than him, the usual suspects of Pendlebury ($622,244), Watson ($579,973) and Ablett ($616,598) will boost any team so get them in if you haven’t got them already.

Sub-elite Legends: If anyone is still without Gary Ablett, gather your pennies and trade in for the best Fantasy player in the competition. I also think Lance Franklin is undervalued, so if you need to add a Swans player into your line-up, he is a proven performer who should make you some valuable profit over the course of the season.
