Bio
Recruited from Subiaco in Western Australia, Bill Faul was part of South Melbourne’s famed “foreign legion” of the 1930s. From 1932 to 1938 he played 117 games in the red and white. In his first year with South, he won the Club’s Best and Fairest award and was runner-up in the Brownlow Medal. A dashing half-back, he was a member of the Club’s 1933 Premiership team. Bill renewed his association with South Melbourne when he returned to coach the team in the 1960 and 1961 seasons. In 2003, he was named at half-back in the Swans Team of The Century.
