Shane Biggs, Jake Lloyd and Daniel Robinson have been named in the NEAFL Eastern Conference Team of the Year, which was announced at the annual Mulrooney Medal count on Friday in Canberra.

Biggs was one of the standout performers for the Swans reserves this season, averaging over 26 disposals and 5 marks per game playing predominantly off the half-back line.

Biggs’ good form was rewarded late in the season when he was elevated from the Sydney Swans rookie list to the senior list in round 18.

The 22-year-old went on to make his AFL debut against Hawthorn in round 23 and has been selected for the Swans’ semi-final clash with Carlton at ANZ Stadium.

Biggs was also the Swans reserves’ best performer in the Mulrooney Medal count, finishing with 10 votes, while Jesse White was the reserves next best with eight votes. Belconnnen’s James Bennett took out this year’s award with 21 votes.

As well as Team of the Year honours, both Lloyd and Robinson have been selected in the Swans reserves side who will take on Belconnen in Sunday’s NEAFL Eastern Conference Grand Final at Kippax Oval in Canberra.
