Sydney Swans co-captain Kieren Jack has consolidated his position amongst the top-three in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award despite his side’s 18-point loss to Port Adelaide last Saturday.

Jack was the Swans leading vote-getter in the match, receiving three votes for his 23-disposal game, which also featured nine tackles, seven clearances and two goals.

Jack moved to within a vote of team mate Dan Hannebery, who currently sits in second place in the Award’s voting, behind runaway leader Gary Ablett of the Gold Coast Suns, who leads by 19 votes.

Josh Kennedy was the only other player in red and white to register a vote off the coaches, for his 31 touches through the midfield.

Port Adelaide pair Kane Cornes and Chad Wingard were judged as equal-best on ground in the Power’s win, receiving eight votes each from the coaches.
