Sydney Swans ruckman Sam Naismith returns as one of three changes to the team to face the Western Bulldogs at the SCG on Thursday night.
Naismith, small forward Ben Ronke, and speedy youngster Justin McInerny come into the side, replacing Tom McCartin (concussion), Colin O’Riordan (omitted) and Sam Gray (omitted).
The changes come as the Swans prepare to enter the match off a five-day break, following the win over North Melbourne last Saturday.
Sydney Swans coach John Longmire said all three players would play in important role against the Bulldogs.
“It’s terrific to have Sam back in as he obviously gives us a lot around the ball with his height and athleticism,” Longmire said.
“He was terrific for us in Round 1 but hasn’t played since then, he has trained the last few weeks though, and looks pretty good.
“Justin gives us plenty of run, which is required against a hard-running team.
“Ben gives us some really good pressure in our front half, which is also very important against this team.”
