Bio
Collingwood shocked the football world at the end of the 2000 season when it traded midfield speedster Paul Williams to the Sydney Swans. Paul had played 189 games with the Magpies from 1991 to 2000 after being recruited from North Hobart. He produced his best form in Sydney, and was named Club Champion in his first two seasons (2001 and 2002) with the Swans. All Australian in 2003, Paul continued his fine form in the red and white and played a vital role in the Swans’ 2005 Premiership. Williams was named on a wing in the grand final team, and gave the Swans his customary pace and dash in the four-point defeat of the West Coast Eagles. Sadly, Paul was forced into retirement after he broke a collarbone in 2006, shortly after playing his 300th career game.
