Ruckman Sam Naismith is likely to miss the remainder of the season after scans on Friday confirmed a ruptured ACL.
Naismith sustained the injury late in Thursday night’s loss to the Western Bulldogs at the SCG.
Executive GM of Football Charlie Gardiner said the injury occurred in Naismith’s right knee, the same knee that he injured in 2018.
“It is terrible news for Sam and really disappointing for the team,” Gardiner said.
“He will see a surgeon next week and we will then lay out next steps from there.
“Our thoughts are with Sam at the moment and we will wrap our arms around him as he gets on with his recovery.”
