The Sydney Swans look forward to welcoming a crowd of up to 10,000 fans at their next home game at the SCG.
The Swans had been due to play Melbourne at the SCG on Sunday, July 5, however will now play an away game against West Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday, July 4, in one of several changes to the Round 5 fixture.
It means Sydney's next home game, at this stage a Round 7 match against Brisbane, will be the first time the Swans have been able to host a five-figure crowd this season.
The match looks set to be restricted to NSW residents, following guidelines issued by the AFL on Friday.
The guidelines come after the NSW Government and Chief Medical Officer advised that Victorian residents should not attend games in NSW until such time as the rate of Covid-19 community transmission in Victoria eases.
The Sydney Swans are committed to following advice from government and health authorities to protect the health of the broader community, as well as our own staff and players.
We would like to thank all of our Bloods 2020 members for their continued support and hope to be able to welcome our non NSW-based members back to games soon.
