IN A CAREER full of highlights, Sydney Swans co-captain played arguably one of his most important in Saturday's 28-point qualifying final win over Adelaide.

In a low-scoring, hard-fought opening term, Goodes kicked a team-lifting goal after marking on the end of a typical Ryan O'Keefe centre clearance.

Their next goal came via a forced turnover created by Goodes and finished by McGlynn early in the second quarter that began a five-goal term.

Goodes rounded out his superb opening half by setting up Lewis Jetta with an easy runnig goal.

Goodes finished with 22 disposals and three goals, far from his most statistically dominant game, but still one of his most influential.
