Swans coach John Longmire said the team pulled up well from last weekend’s 94-point win over GWS, and were all fit for selection this week.
“There will be no changes this week, so we’ll go in with the same team that we’ve had and hopefully with the big job ahead of them against Brisbane, we can do it,” Longmire told SwansTV.
“It’s been good (to not have to make changes). The players we’ve brought into the team have been in good form and the couple of question marks we had with injury earlier in the week have been fine.”
Swans midfielder Luke Parker, who has missed the last month of football with a fractured collarbone, will make his return through the Swans reserves this weekend.
Longmire said giving Parker a run in the reserves will be the best preparation for a return to the senior team later this season.
“(Parker’s) missed a month now and he’s bounced back really quickly, considering the original diagnosis was going to be six-to-eight weeks,” he said.
“He’s back playing this week and we discussed him briefly in regards to senior selection, but it’s in Luke’s best interest for the rest of the year for him to play good game time in the reserves and have a good crack and run around.
“We want him to get a few touches and feel good about himself in the twos, and we’re looking forward to seeing how he goes.”
Longmire said he is anticipating a tough clash with the Lions this weekend, following Brisbane’s terrific results on field in the last month.
“(Brisbane) have won three of their last four games and they beat the West Coast Eagles, which is not an easy feat, and they are a good young team,” he said.
“They have strengths all over the ground and they are well-structured and are playing good footy, so it won’t be easy and we’ve got our work cut out ahead of us, but hopefully we’ll give our best shot at it.”
Longmire added that he hopes his team can continue its impressive home ground form this weekend, which has seen the Swans lose just one of six clashes at the SCG this year.
“We want to make it difficult for opposition teams to play here, and it’s one thing saying it, and it’s another thing doing it,” he said.
“We’ve tried to be as competitive as we can here for a long time now and we got beaten against Adelaide, but it was only by five points, and the other times we’ve played here at the SCG we’ve been successful, so we want to maintain that type of record.”
