Hannebery rising again
Daniel Hannebery says he is returning to the form that won last season's Rising Star awardr
The 20-year-old was lively for a second week in a row, collecting 15 possessions and kicking two goals in the club's 62-point victory over Port Adelaide on Saturday night.
Hannebery said the club had placed no extra pressure on him to perform this season after being named the best young player in the competition last year.
"There's no pressure from the club or the coaches; the pressure is probably from myself to make sure I'm setting high standards on the track and in games and making sure I'm contributing to the team," he said.
"I think there's been times this year where my contribution has lacked and I've probably let the team down a little bit but I've got to make sure I keep playing my role and stick to structures and keep improving.
"There's a lot of things I can improve on from tonight, as can the side."
Swans coach John Longmire said Hannebery was likely to take a few weeks to return to his best.
"I thought his first few games were a little bit quiet but I thought he was fantastic last week and played real instinctive footy," Longmire said.
"Everyone expects every young player to come through and just keep on going up and sometimes you get to a certain point, you plateau a bit and then you go again.
"I've got no doubt 'Hans' is the type of character who will go again … he just works so hard on his game."
Hannebery said the club was looking forward to taking on Hawthorn in front of a big crowd at the SCG next Sunday.
