The Sydney Swans Football Club, QBE and Volkswagen are delighted to announce Max Robertson as the winner of our 2011 QBE Sydney Swans Academy Raffle. Mr Robertson wins a Volkswagen Polo Trendline 3 Door 7 Speed DSG, valued at $21,000.
Natalie Laing picked up the runners-up prize of $3,000 cash, while Margaret Nall won the Book Buyer’s prize to the value of $5,000.
Thank you to everyone who bought tickets for this year’s QBE Sydney Swans Academy Raffle and supported the Club in the continuing development of the Academy.
The QBE Sydney Swans Academy is one of the most exciting and ground-breaking initiatives in the history of the AFL.
The Academy is now in its second year in the pursuit of the long-held dream at the Sydney Swans - to nurture boys as young as nine years old and shape them into future Swans players. Through this process we are also tangibly increasing the opportunities for NSW players to play at an elite level.
No longer will the Club be solely reliant on competing with every other AFL club for the diamonds in the national draft. Now the Sydney Swans can find their own gems amongst the 3.9 million people in the Club’s NSW zone, and use the Academy’s world-class resources to polish them into home-grown players who will proudly wear the red and white.
Providing quality coaching and equipment appropriate for the development of these young men’s skills obviously comes at a cost over and above the funds that we need to raise to also run a successful elite AFL side. There is no doubt we need your help to continue to give these young men the best possible chance of success.
You can be a part of making our Academy dream a reality by supporting the QBE Sydney Swans Academy Raffle in 2011 and on the way perhaps claiming a part of over $24,000 worth of prizes!
Thank you again for your support.
