The undefeated Swans Reserves will take on new rivals the GWS Giants on Saturday morning at Manuka Oval.

In their only meeting so far, the Swans scored a dominant win over the Giants in a practice match, prior to the senior team’s clash with Essendon at ANZ Stadium.

Jesse White has been named at full forward for the Swans Reserves, setting up a possible matchup with high-profile Giants recruit Israel Folau.

Defenders Lewis Roberts-Thomson and Matt Spangher will continue their comebacks from injury against the Giants.

With Nathan Gordon promoted to the senior team for this week’s match against the Bulldogs, assistant coach John Blakey wrote in his ‘The Game Plan’ column, he had also been impressed with the form of Lewis Johnston and Luke Parker in the Reserves.

The squad will contain four new top-up players from the QBE Sydney Swans Academy, including brothers Eric and Andrew Moody, Mark Mura and Matthew Lemme.
