Sydney Swans speedster Lewis Jetta has been nominated for a 2012 Deadly Award.

The Deadly Awards are the national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music, sport, entertainment and community awards.

Jetta, who has had a breakout season with the Swans this year, has been nominated in the ‘Outstanding Achievement in AFL’ category, alongside Hawthorn’s Lance Franklin and Cyril Rioli, as well as Essendon’s Paddy Ryder and Carlton’s Eddie Betts.

The purpose of the Deadly Awards is to recognise the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to the community and to Australian society.

The Deadly Awards showcase the outstanding achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and provides identifiable national and local role models.
