THE SYDNEY Swans will have to wait until pick 11 to select former Adelaide key forward Kurt Tippett at next Tuesday's NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft.

The AFL released the pre-season draft order on Friday after examining each club's Total Player Payment estimates for the 2013 season.

There are a total of 17 selections in the draft, shared among 11 clubs, although it's unlikely more than seven or eight will be used as clubs hold picks over for the NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

League rules allow teams to have as few as 38 primary list players, and use the extra two spots on rookies.

Although 10 clubs have a pick before the Swans, all are set to overlook Tippett due to the hefty price tag he has placed on his head.

The draft will take place by conference call at 11am, with the rookie draft to follow immediately after.

The seven clubs not participating in the pre-season draft have already submitted full primary lists of 40 players.
