Round 11 v Essendon
The Sydney Swans were in cruise-control against the then second-placed Bombers leading by 47-points at three-quarter-time of the round 11 clash at Etihad Stadium.
Essendon stormed home, however, with a nine-goal-to-two final term to get within four points.
With just seconds remaining, Bomber Courtney Dempsey marked outside 50 and played on as the final siren sounded.
Two minutes earlier, the Swans’ most influential player, Lewis Jetta, put the visitors ahead on the scoreboard when he kicked his third goal of the night to stem the red and black tide.
Ted Richards and Jarrad McVeigh were inspirational in the win, while Kieren Jack celebrated game 100 with another strong performance.
