The Sydney Swans Football Club is mourning the loss of Karen Curtain, who died suddenly at her home in Melbourne on Friday evening.
Karen was a lifetime supporter of South Melbourne and the Sydney Swans.
Her husband John was CEO of the Club from late 1994 to the end of 1995.
John and Karen’s last trip to Sydney together was to attend a farewell dinner for retiring QBE Chief Executive Frank O’Halloran on August 2.
Karen declared it one of the best nights of her life because she sat alongside Swans co-captain Adam Goodes and defender Nick Malceski.
Swans Chairman Richard Colless said John and Karen were an incredible couple.
“Karen was one of the kindest, most generous people you could ever hope to meet,” Colless said.
