First year Swan Jed Lamb has suffered another setback and will be sidelined for the next 2-3 weeks.

Lamb, who was given the all-clear to resume playing last week, reinjured his hamstring at training on Thursday.

“Unfortunately he got reinjured in the final training session and we now go back to the start with him and it should be another two to three weeks,” Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron told SwansTV.

Cameron said ruck duo Shane Mumford and Mike Pyke, as well as key midfielder Kieren Jack had all improved but would require another week on the sidelines before making a return to football.

Gary Rohan, who had cartilage removed from his right knee last week, is recovering well.

“Things have gone really well since the op. He doesn’t have any pain or swelling and we’re getting ready for him to start running, which we’ll do early next week," Cameron said.

Despite the introduction of the new substitute rule in 2011, Cameron said at this early stage, there was no evidence to suggest injury rates had changed in comparison to last season.

“What we do see is a lot more post game fatigue from the players, it’s taking them a bit longer to get over games and that has an impact on training loads during the week," he said.

“Our general feeling is that we’ve needed to do a little less training early in the week to help them get over games."
