After tasting defeat at the hands of 12-year olds in their two Challenge Cup games last Friday, there’s no shying away for the Sydney Swans players as they get set to head back into New South Wales schools tomorrow afternoon.

Following a tough training session tomorrow morning, the players will head out to schools and communities in the south, east and north of metropolitan Sydney, as well as Wagga Wagga, Coffs Harbour and Illawarra.

The visits are part of the Team SWANS Community Program which delivers key messages on healthy lifestyles and the development of the game to eager youngsters across the state.

Tomorrow’s visits will see new Swans players Alex Brown, Tommy Walsh and Jordan Lockyer head to schools north of the Harbour, while Tom Mitchell and Mitch Morton will head out to the eastern suburbs.

Fellow new recruit Tony Armstrong will join Matt Spangher in Illawarra, while Adam Goodes and Dan Hannebery (Wagga Wagga), and Lewis Jetta and Nick Smith (Coffs Harbour) round out the regional visits.

Jetta and Smith’s visit to Coffs coincides with the local Aboroginal community launching the Parental and Community Engagements (PaCE) program. The program aims improve the capacity for local Aboriginal families to engage with schools and educational providers in order to support improved outcomes for children, as well as better engaging indigenous parents and communities.

Kieren Jack will return to his footballing roots at tomorrow's visits as he and Eugene Kruger head to schools around the Pennant Hills and Westbrook area where Jack first began playing junior football.
