I have to say it’s been one of my toughest weeks since I came to the Swans in the 2009 draft.
Last week against Richmond was the worst game of my AFL career so far, but I know it’s all about how you bounce back from a game like that.
I really don’t know what was wrong with us last week, but I do know a few things I can work on myself when we play St Kilda on Sunday at ANZ Stadium.
I’ve really got to work on getting my hands on the ball more often, and then when I’ve got it, trying to do more damage.
I’ve got to get to the right spots more often, and improve my reaction time. I got caught ‘ball-watching’ a few times last weekend.
To help me with a few things I’ve spent a bit of extra time with the coaches this week, especially ‘Lurker’ - which is Leigh Tudor, our midfield coach.
I went to see him to ask him what I could do to improve and I’ve been working on those things at training and that will hopefully show in the game this weekend.
We’ve got training on Saturday morning, doing speed school and low load where we practice our goal kicking and get a bit of touch.
We all know this week that we are on notice. There have been a few changes to the team and we all have to earn our spot and work really hard this week.
It’s been mostly serious stuff this week but we did find a bit of time to play a few tricks on each other. I did get Trent Dennis-Lane a couple of times, sneaking up on him in the downstairs training area and scaring the pants off him…
Let’s hope we can give the Swans fans something to cheer about on Sunday at ANZ Stadium.
