The annual celebrity match in support of Redkite is on this Sunday, with a host of radio and tv personalities showing off their footy talent on the SCG before the Swans play Fremantle.
Radio presenter Adam Spencer will line up alongside other media identitities including Deano from Bondi Rescue, actor Rhys Muldoon, the Chaser’s Craig Reucassel, and singer Wes Carr.
Nova presenters including Scott Dooley, Merrick Watts, former Swan Ryan Fitzgerald and Wippa will also don the footy boots and try to get a kick on the SCG.
Fitzy will no doubt be thinking back to his days on the Swans list as he tries to kick goals for Redkite.
Jewellery designer Samantha Wills and Gus Worland from Triple M will also get in on the action.
The Swans and Fremantle play each year for the Redkite Cup, as both clubs support the organization that does so much to help young Australians with cancer, and their families.
Redkite supports children and young people with cancer and their families from the moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment and when families return home to their community.
Redkite is there every step of the way by providing real and practical emotional, financial and educational support services. Redkite believes that the best way to support a child with cancer is to support the whole family.
Swans defender Tadhg Kennelly is proud of the players’ ongoing strong association with Redkite. “We feel strongly about the fantastic work done by Redkite, helping children and their families through what can be a very difficult time,’’ Kennelly said.
“We want everyone to get along and watch the celebrity game, and then of course stay to watch us take on Fremantle in the battle for the Redkite Cup,’’ he said.
The celebrity game starts at 12.40pm on the SCG, and finishes just before 1pm, with the Swans v Fremantle game commencing at 1.10pm.
