The Sydney Swans have named a debutant among four changes to the side to face Collingwood at the Gabba on Thursday night.
Sam Wicks has been named as Sydney’s fifth debutant of the season while defender Jackson Thurlow has been named for his first game of 2020.
Dylan Stephens returns to the side along with Lewis Melican, who has recovered from a groin injury suffered against West Coast.
Coach John Longmire was excited to be naming another debutant – and one who is NSW-bred.
“It is great to be able to bring another local boy into the team as it is really important for us to be able to foster that local talent,” Longmire said.
“Sam is a young player who came through the QBE Sydney Swans Academy system and will put some pressure on as a small forward.
“It is really exciting for him and we will just be looking for him to put pressure on in our front half.”
Nick Blakey, Sam Gray, Lewis Taylor and Ryan Clarke have been omitted.
