The Sydney Swans will blood their sixth debutant of season 2020 on Thursday night with speedster Zac Foot named in the team for Sydney Derby XIX at Opus Stadium.
19-year old Foot was pick 51 at the 2018 AFL Draft and gets his opportunity at senior level after impressive performances in the reserves side.
Coach John Longmire said it was great to have Foot in the side after the speedy forward had been working really hard on his game.
"He's a very good hard running player," Longmire said.
"We have him in the team because he deserves an opportunity, he has been playing well at the reserves level and we hope to see him in our forward half."
Foot's inclusion is one of three changes to the side with Nick Blakey returning after a solid game in the reserves (against Collingwood in Brisbane last week) and Colin O'Riordan returning from injury. Elijah Taylor (omitted), Aliir Aliir (injured) and Matt Ling (omitted) make way for the trio.
The Round 12 clash and 19th Sydney Derby will be very different cross-town battle to years gone by with the game being played in Perth.
"It's unusual there's no doubt about that but it's great we still get the opportunity to play", Longmire said.
"We know the Giants are in great form, their form over the last few weeks has been fantastic, they are a good team and we look forward to that opportunity."
