It was mixed results for the QBE Sydney Swans Academy teams in Wollongong as they faced cross-town rivals, the GWS Giants.
The Top End side dominated the Giants, winning by 53-points.
The Futures side had a dominant win last week over the Giants but the tables were turned this week as they succumbed to a fast finishing Giants side who took the game by 5 points.
QBE Sydney Swans Academy General Manager Chris Smith was impressed with the strong performance by his Top End team.
"There was even contributions from all players," Smith said.
"Thorne, Gulden, Campbell, Brewer, Sheather and Roseby were dominant in the midfield, getting good service from our two ruckmen, McAndrew and Babic. Huisstede and Puncher provided strong marking options up forward, finishing with seven goals between them.
"In defence, Wilson and Geddes offered plenty of dash and rebound, with Gaden and Bauer giving the Giants’ key forwards very little. All up, every Swans player had their moment and contributed to the team’s victory.
"The Futures squad surrendered their three quarter time lead to a fast finishing Giants, who hit the lead late and hung on by 5 points. Flynn dominated the match, with his high marking, long kicking and hard running. Lenny Robin was a strong marking target in the forward line and Rogers and Gabila impressed with their work rate, with the latter kicking 4 goals."
