The Sydney Swans rebounded from their loss to Collingwood with an 82-point thrashing of the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium in round 21.
The win saw the Swans move a game clear on top of the AFL ladder with just two regular season matches to go ahead of the finals series.
The Swans trailed by three goals at quarter-time before piling on 23 goals to the Bulldogs’ eight over the remaining three quarters, to record the club’s highest score since round 15, 2007.
Ruckman Mike Pyke stood up with a career-high three goals for the Swans before being subbed off with an ankle injury, while Adam Goodes returned to his best form with 22 disposals and three goals.
Fellow Swans talls Shane Mumford and inform Lewis Roberts-Thomson also contributed three goals each to the team’s final tally.
