Remember when premiership defender Nick Smith led the toast to welcome the new season? That was 2020.
Or when Sydney Swans players headed to the NSW south coast to assist communities impacted by the devastating bushfires? That was 2020 too.
Or that eerily quiet first win over the Crows in front of an empty stadium at Adelaide Oval? Yup – also 2020.
And all of that was before the season was postponed by the pandemic.
A lot has happened this year. On the field, we blooded seven debutants, co-captain Josh Kennedy ran out for his 250th AFL game, fellow co-captain Luke Parker played his 200th and Jake Lloyd celebrated his 150th before going on to win his second Bob Skilton Medal.
Off the field, the community experienced a year like never before with face masks, hand sanitiser and social distancing now part of everyone’s daily routine.
We reflect on the season in our 2020 Club Magazine which is out now – exclusive to members.
