The Sydney Swans will start their season this Saturday night with a match against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

Sydney will blood three new draftees with Logan McDonald, Braeden Campbell and Errol Gulden selected for their first AFL games.

The last time the Swans had three first-year players make their debut was 1990, when Paul Kelly, Brad Tunbridge and Shane Fell ran out for the first time in Sydney’s Round 1 clash with Carlton.

Sydney also had three opening round debutants in 2016 , Callum Mills, Tom Papley and George Hewett, however only Mills and Papley were entering their first season with the club.
