Our first match in Melbourne for 2021 is dedicated to Bob Clutterbuck who passed away late last year.
Bob commenced with South Melbourne in the late 1960s and fulfilled many match day roles in his time at the club - including boot studder, trainer, property and drink steward.
Bob loved the club and rarely missed a game in Melbourne over the course of 50 plus years; always on hand to help any way he could.
A familiar face for generations of Swans players dating back to Norm Smith and Bob Skilton, providing an enduring link between South Melbourne and the Sydney Swans.
He is a Life Member of the Swans and remembered fondly by all involved with the club. It is people like Bob that make football club’s such unique and wonderful organisations to be part of.
A big gentle soul, Bob made everyone feel so welcome when they first stepped inside the change rooms.
A gentleman in the old fashioned mould, Bob was a lovely man who loved our club dearly.
By remembering Bob today, the club sends its deepest sympathies to Bob’s wife Mary and all his family and friends. Bob’s big presence will be greatly missed at Melbourne matches.
Thank you Bob for more than 50 years of service to the Swans (South Melbourne & Sydney).
